Reflection

Updated: Oct 19, 2020

I would like to introduce this beautiful photograph which is in my therapy room. The day I took this I had just walked out of the trenches at Vimy Ridge memorial.

It was a poignant visit learning about what had happened there during the 1st world war. Seeing the sun shining beautifully and the dappling light through the leaves felt like a special moment.

The reason that this photograph is in my room is not only because it is relaxing to look at but because it holds happy memories of friendship and family.

I have since reflected on the visit and how there was inadequate mental health provision in those days. It reminds me of how far we have come and how much we can help people with anxiety and depression with solution focused hypnotherapy.

It must have felt more like punishment if the history books are anything to go by.
